Wandle Walks

We delighted to let you know about four heritage walks along the River Wandle that will be taking place in the first half of this year. There is no charge for the walks, donations are always welcome.

All walks are led by John Sheridan a volunteer at the Wandle Industrial Museum and Merton Priory Chapter House.

Sunday 10 May, 12.00: Illustrated industrial heritage walk from Colliers Wood station to Merton Abbey Mills via Wandle Park, Wandle Bank and the plaque on the bank of the River Wandle commemorating the site of William Morris's works. Optional tour of Merton Priory Chapter House afterwards. Booking via email to john.sheridan08@gmail.com

Friday 12 June: Walk Earlsfield Station to the mouth of Wandle as part of the Wandsworth Heritage Festival. Follow the Wandle and learn about the industrial past of Wandsworth from mills to railways.
