Putney Society Webinar - Clean Air in London. 7:30pm on Monday 14th June 2021

Event Date: Jun 14, 2021

Simon Birkett of Clean Air in London will talk about the challenges facing the new Mayor in reducing levels of NO2 and PM2.5 pollution in London. Clean Air in London’s mission is to achieve full compliance with WHO guidelines for air quality throughout London and elsewhere.

On 21 April 2021, Philip Barlow, coroner for inner south London, who ruled earlier this year that air pollution from traffic was a cause of the death of nine year old Ella KissiDebrah, followed up with a “prevention of future deaths report”, calling for maximum levels of particulate air pollution (PMs) to be legally brought into line with WHO levels.

Simon will be joined by  Melissa Compton-Edwards from Mums for Lungs.   This grass roots clean air group has focused on campaigning hard for the ULEZ expansion, empowering parents to campaign for School Streets, tackling engine idling and calling for strong air pollution targets in the Environment Bill.

Interested?  To register for the webinar please contact the the Society at chair@putneysociety.org.uk   You will then be sent joining instructions in good time before the meeting.
