New Primary School for Putney Hospital site - The Society Response Read the letter
Having viewed the plans unveiled by the Council for a new primary school on the disused Putney Hospital site to accomodate 470 schoolchildren and 24 flats; the Society has responded with a number of concerns for the plans for the site which is surrounded by conservation area and public common land. These include:
- The size of the site to accomodate both needs of school and flat residents
- The idea of having a playground on the roof
- The possible detrimental effect on other local schools particularly where school numbers have been falling
- The increase in traffic in the Lower Richmond Road
- The lack of parking and dropping off space
- The lack of alternative good local transport
