Healthcare for Putney and Roehampton - the next steps
The report, 'Healthcare for London: A Framework for Action', by Professor Sir Ara Darzi, was published in July 2007. But what do its recommendations mean for local health care services in Putney and Roehampton? This meeting will be an opportunity for us to hear more about the report's proposals and ask questions of the speakers on some of the more pressing issues as they affect us locally. For example, what is a 'polyclinic'? Is either Putney or Roehampton one of the planned locations for a polyclinic? How will the newly built (when we get it) Primary Care Centre on Putney Lower Common fit into this scenario? Where are Roehampton's doctors' practices going to be accommodated under the new arrangements? Our speakers are Sian Job GP, Chair of the Wandsworth Local Medical Council; Peter Ilves GP, Senior Partner, Danebury Avenue Surgery, Roehampton; and Nicola Theron of the Southwest Health Partnership who is playing a vital role in the redevelopment of the Putney Hospital site. Everyone with an interest in the future of our local health service facilities should attend this meeting. There will be time for questions and discussion.
